Mt Mitchell, NC 2007 Fall

We got some fried chicken and potato salad at Ingles and I made some pimento cheese sandwiches over the weekend. It was the same menu my mother packed for us when we were kids getting ready to drive up in the Smokies. The air was crisp and the leaves were just beginning to change. We put the GPS on Mt Michell and started out. The GPS took us to a dirt road which happened to be a forest ranger road. It had a campground and stream nearby. We enjoyed our picnic and there was plenty of space for Lilli to run around while teathered to a chair. After reaching Mt Michell (highest point East of the Mississippi), we took some pictures. It was clear as a bell and we could see for miles.
